PS to the below

Vildi bara bæta við að síðasta færslan var skrifuð í nokkuð vondum skapi; ég átti alls ekki við hvern einasta Íslending í heimi, langt frá því, mér fannst það bara pirrandi að bláókunnugt fólk skuli byrja að tala ensku við mig næstumþvístrax og það skynjaði hreim. Auðvitað gerir það svona til að reyna að hjálpa mér; þetta er bara smá furðulegt stundum.

(og ef einhver sem ég þekki hefur rakst á þetta, ég var alls ekki að meina það um ykkur)

You should write more posts in English, because then I could read them. And since of course your blog should totally revolve around my wants and needs.....

Anyway. Not sure how I found your blog, but what I can read I like :)

I agree.

And I think it is particularly vicious to have an English heading with an Icelandic text.

As one would say in one's best Icelandic-Canadian, sorrí! (and takk/thanks!) Obviously my diabolical master plan that everyone in the world shall one day use þs and ðs in their daily speech are facing a setback, which is that no one can understand it..

There are a few reasons I write in Icelandic (other than the fact that noooobody suspects the Icelandic Inquisition!)

1. I am writing about something I find incredibly funny but that doesn't translate very well.

2. I am writing about something that is in fact completely translatable but I am doing so during language exams and my concience is gnawing on my shinbones.

3. I am writing to complain about some Icelanders not speaking Icelandic back to me for various reasons unknown (given I'm a total stranger to them and may or may not speak a word of English), something that drives me somewhat up the wall. The point being that I am capable of expressing myself in Icelandic, in which case it makes sense not to say so in English.
